Psychological Sciences Research Institute
The Psychological Sciences Research Institute (IPSY) consists of over 200 members including 45 teaching and research professors, 22 postdocs and 90 PhD students, and is among the largest research institutes for psychological sciences in Belgium. The Research Centre for Health and Psychological Development, based within IPSY, has an academic staff of 16 behavioural scientists. Health psychology is one of the three main research topics of the centre and involves the application of psychological theory and methods to the promotion and the maintenance of mental and physical health, prevention and the treatment of ill health, and the improvement of the health care system and health policies. Psychology at UCL has an outstanding national and international reputation and is well known for expertise in the field.
